Viviana Molle

Viviana Molle was born on April 23, 1991, in Basel-Stadt, Switzerland. At the age of 11, she began her ballet training at the Ballet School Theater Basel (BTB) under the direction of Amanda Bennett and Julie Wherlock. Her ballet education at BTB lasted from 2002 to 2009. During this time, she performed in major productions such as “AIDA Opera” (2003, St. Jakob Stadium, Basel) and “Peter and the Wolf” with the Junior Company under Heinz Spoerli and François Petit.

After graduating from BTB, Viviana Molle joined the Basel Dance Academy under the direction of Galina Gladkova. There, she collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Raimondo Rebeck, Chinsun Chan, and Dietmar Seyffert. She participated in international competitions, including the TanzOlymp in Berlin, where she won a Bronze Medal in the Modern Group Category in 2009, as well as the International Festival Modern in Vitebsk, Belarus (2011-2013).

In addition, Viviana Molle completed a vocational training as an office assistant. Her first year was at the former AKJS (Child and Youth Protection Department) and her second year at the Sports Office of Basel-Stadt. This training laid the foundation for her strong organizational skills.

The founding of the Vivi Molle Ballet School in Basel in November 2013 was a natural progression of her work as a substitute teacher at various ballet schools. She initially rented space at Studioform (Caroline Neuenschwander) and began her independent work there. From 2015 to 2020, she served as a ballet teacher at the Ballet School Theater Basel. In 2019, she additionally took on the administrative management of the Junior School at the Ballet School Theater Basel. Since October 2020, she has devoted herself entirely to her own school to further develop her vision and projects.

Viviana Molle is also a certified American Ballet Theater trainer (certification completed in 2018 in Forlì, Italy, with Franco de Vita and Raymond Lukens). In addition to her ballet career, she worked for many years in administration, including at Volvo, bringing valuable organizational skills to her school.

Lesya Sutter

Ballet Educator

Lesya was born on May 7, 1982, in Ukraine. Her passion for dance began in kindergarten, where she enthusiastically performed on small stages that felt enormous at the time. This early enthusiasm led her to dedicate herself to the art of dance. In addition to her academic studies, she attended music school and was actively involved in a dance group.

Lesya pursued her education at the University of Humanities in Rivne, Ukraine, where she was trained as a choreographer specializing in folk dances and as a teacher of professional disciplines. Her ballet training is rooted in the esteemed Vaganova method. Her mentors included Lucia Zanj, Larisa Voloshina, and Valentina Puyova in ballet, as well as Anatoli Krykontschuk, Ilona Lehka, and Volodymyr Gordeev in folk dance.

Since 2019, Lesya has been working as a ballet and character dance teacher at the Vivi Molle Ballet School. Her greatest passion is sharing her extensive knowledge and fostering the development of both children and adults as dancers.

From 2020 to 2022, Lesya also served as a residential supervisor at the Ballet School Theater Basel, where she further honed her pedagogical and mentoring skills.

Elayne Schöni

Elayne was born in Ayrshire, Scotland, and discovered her passion for ballet at the age of 2. From the very beginning, she demonstrated great dedication and commitment. She started her training at a local Royal Academy of Dance school and, at the age of 11, earned a place at the Dance School of Scotland to begin full-time training.

Elayne achieved distinction in all RAD exams up to Advanced 2, which qualified her to compete in the prestigious international ballet competition Genée. She was also a Junior and Senior Associate of the Scottish Ballet.

In 2015, she graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Ballet. Following her graduation, she was selected by the Artistic Director of the Scottish Ballet to join the company as a dancer. She toured the UK with productions such as “The Nutcracker” and “Cinderella” and embarked on an Asian tour with “Romeo and Juliet” before deciding to transition into teaching.

Elayne completed the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance and became a Registered Teacher in 2018. She also holds a certificate in Progressing Ballet Technique and is a member of the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance.

In addition to her ballet career, she pursued Highland Dance, winning numerous championship titles, including Scottish, British, and European Championships. In 2015, she joined the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Dance Company and continues to enjoy performing worldwide.

Since 2022, Elayne has been teaching at the Vivi Molle Ballet School. Elayne loves teaching and finds her greatest fulfillment in sharing her passion for dance and inspiring the next generation of dancers.

Peter Zundel

BOpa (Ballet Grandpa)

Born on June 14, 1953, in Basel and raised in Bern, Peter Zundel returned to his birthplace in 1990 after various professional detours.

Early in his career, he worked in the Department of Education in Basel as an administrative officer in the Youth Assistance Office. His daily work primarily involved Excel spreadsheets, statistics, financing, and approvals. It was during this time that he met Viviana Molle, leading to a longstanding collaboration.

Peter’s fascination with the world of theater and storytelling blossomed in the late 1980s when he became involved in the establishment of the “Buechehof” life and work community in Lostorf. There, he met puppeteer Lisbeth Häubi, with whom he performed puppet theater for three decades until mid-2015.
